Regional passes encourage visitors to explore Scotland's built heritage.
This Spring, Historic Scotland is offering extra incentive to get out and
about to visit some of the country's most beautiful historic properties and
sites in three of Scotland's most spectacular regions.
Special regional Explorer Passes are being introduced to enable reduced
rate admission to a range of great visitor attractions in the Borders,
Dumfries and Galloway, and Orkney.
For those who live in these areas, and for visitors coming to them on
holiday, for short breaks or for day trips, the Explorer Passes provide an
exclusive and economic key to Scotland's past. They allow unlimited access
to all of Historic Scotland's visitor attractions in the three regions plus
free entry to a wide range of events performed at these sites, such as
historical re-enactments, 'living history' displays and exhibitions, and
music and drama presentations.
In the Borders, the Explorer Pass provides access to Dryburgh Abbey,
Jedburgh Abbey, Melrose Abbey, Hermitage Castle and Smailholm Tower. The
prices for this ticket to the history of the Borders are: adult |
